Trade finance bank

Facilitating strategy discussions

In the eight years Tedd was head of research at pan-African bank, Ecobank, he was involved in organising and presenting at numerous briefings and strategy meetings for the bank at its headquarters in Lome (Togo) and in its key hubs in Lagos, Accra and Nairobi. He also presented the bank’s macroeconomic outlook at its annual rating agency reviews with Moody’s, Fitch and S&P, and organised and chaired client events in key African markets (e.g. Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana & Kenya). Drawing on this experience, Tedd acts as a facilitator for clients seeking to hold structured strategy discussions and workshops.

The client in this case study – a trade finance bank with operations across Africa – wanted to review its strategy, focusing on what it did well, where it needed to fix problems and which new markets and products it should consider. Tedd helped facilitate the process, holding brainstorms with the different teams to develop the content and agree the structure of each session, overseeing the process to complete the presentations, acting as chairman on the day and ensuring the sessions flowed smoothly and to schedule, and following up with a report which laid out the key findings and recommendations of the discussions.
